Industrious by Nature
The Round Oak Iron and Steel Works was founded in 1857 by William, 11th Baron Ward, who later became the Earl of Dudley. It played a crucial role in the industrial growth of the region, employing up to 3,000 people at its peak.
As one of the leading steelworks of its time, Round Oak contributed significantly to the economy and provided opportunities for generations of workers. However, as industries evolved and manufacturing declined, the site eventually closed, paving the way for new development.
