Mayor of the West Midlands Richard Parker visited Waterfront to see the progress being made and hear about the exciting plans for the future. Local MP for Stourbridge and Brierley Hill Cat Eccles brought the Mayor down to see a success story in the Black Country.
Senior Associate Alex Hall took the Mayor and the local MP, as well as Black Country Radio, to hear about the plans to fill the two remaining vacant food and beverage units – watch this space – before a tour around the rest of the site.
The Mayor heard about the plans to introduce EV charging bays which will give the ever growing number of electric car drivers a convenient place to re-charge on site.
The bridge across the canal holds a special place in the hearts of local people and has seen wedding proposals and many other happy memories over the years. The Mayor heard about plans to upgrade and improve them.
A walk up the centre concourse followed which will hopefully soon play host to more events as Waterfront aims to attract a new generation of visitors.
Lastly the team from Waterfront, with site manager Kyle Wright, Parcap’s legal team and senior executives convened in the board room in Custom House to discuss the plans for the future.
Alex Hall commented:
“We were very proud to welcome the Mayor of the West Midlands who offered his fulsome support for what we are doing here. We are absolutely clear that whereas Solihull boasts Blythe Valley and Birmingham has Brindley Place, so the Black Country has Waterfront. Our plans are to compete on that level and attract businesses from the wider Black Country and Birmingham. We were delighted to have the local MP Cat Eccles with us again and that she chose Waterfront as an example of a success story in her constituency. We look forward to working with both of them and Dudley Council in the coming years.”
